I used to consider myself a Facebook status update genius. I was quite taken by myself and my clever posts and the cascade of comments below them. I was quite the belle of my own virtual ball.

And then I forgot to do updates for awhile and my glory faded and now I seem to have lost my ability to think of succinct, witty observations with which to delight the masses. (And by “masses” I mean those who I hadn’t yet unfriended for not showering my updates with sufficient bravos and LOLs) And then I felt sad; and then I felt even more deeply sad that Facebook could have such an effect on me and what tragic things this must say about my person.

So I started a blog.
